Harry is part of the U17 squad that sits top of the National Football Youth League (North East Championship Division) putting in some great performances throughout the season! The National Football Youth League is the highest standard of football outside the academy system. The squad is managed by our Head of Football Darren Edmondson who is ex Rochdale & Carlisle United Academy Manager.

Head of Goalkeeping Ross Morecroft had this to say on Harry, "Harry has been a pleasure to work with since starting with us at Park View Academy of Sport in September 2020. Harry has a fantastic attitude and shows great determination on a daily basis to improve himself as a goalkeeper. Harry works hard and sets the standards for the other goalkeepers. Harry has bought into the goalkeeping programme and has been rewarded for his hard work with a number of strong, consistent performances in the U19 National Football Youth League."

Head of Academies John Gamble was notified of Harrys developments from Darren and the goalkeeping staff . With Johns raft of connections in the professional game, he was able to secure Harry a trial at Burnley.

Burnley invited Harry down to take part in a series of training sessions alongside an academy game, in which first team and academy staff observed. Harry was offered a contract on the back of his trial.

Burnley U18 Academy Coach Anthony Philliskirk had the following to say about Harry, "We were looking for a goalkeeper for quite sometime, when John recommended Harry to us. Having watched some footage sent to us by the Sports Science team at Park View, we decided to bring him down, where he hugely impressed me and the team.

We are delighted to be able to offer Harry a two year scholarship providing him with his first rung on becoming a professional footballer."

Head of Academies John Gamble said "Harry has the old-fashioned profile of a Goalkeeper added in with the modern side of goalkeeping, comfortable in possession of the ball. Being the Extra Player. Harry is very assured with all aspects of goalkeeping and is effective at keeping the ball out of his net. His attitude and potential makes him a perfect fit for the professional game."

As an academy we are immensely proud of Harrys achievements and wish him all the best in achieving his dream of becoming a professional footballer.
