HUGE NEWS
Park View Academy of Sport Launches New Basketball Academy – September 2026
We are proud to announce the launch of our new Basketball Academy at Park View Academy of Sport, starting in September 2026.
This exciting programme will be led by former Newcastle Eagles player Louis Sayers, bringing elite-level experience and leadership to our growing sports provision.

We are delighted to be partnering with SSB ELITE, FITE Health Performance Gym, and Cardinal Vipers Basketball Club to create a high-performance pathway for our student-athletes. Together, this partnership will provide clear progression into Wednesday afternoon college basketball leagues, allowing players to train full-time.

The programme will also support athletes competing in U18 National League basketball for their own clubs, enabling them to continue developing physically through daily coaching and structured strength and conditioning. The academy will work closely with each player’s home club to ensure our programme complements their existing development environment.
Our Basketball Academy is open to all post-16 students across the North East who wish to combine high-level basketball with their education. Whether you are currently part of an elite programme or looking to take the next step in your development, this pathway provides an outstanding opportunity to grow both on and off the court.
With BTEC Sport, A Levels, and the Fitness Diploma on offer, we can support every academic pathway alongside full-time training.
Lewis Pendleton, Director of Sport, said:
“The Basketball Academy represents a huge step forward for Park View. We are committed to providing outstanding opportunities for our students, and this partnership allows us to deliver a high-performance environment that supports both academic and athletic success. We are excited about the impact this programme will have across the North East and look forward to supporting players who want to stay in the sport beyond 16.”
Louis Sayers, Head Coach, added:
“I’m incredibly excited to lead the Basketball Academy at Park View and to be part of building this programme. I have huge aspirations for what we can achieve here. This is about providing student-athletes with a high-performance environment where they can develop as players, people, and students. Our aim is to create an academy experience that goes above and beyond and gives players the best possible platform to progress both on and off the court.”
