PARTNERED WITH
WAKEFIELD TRINITY

Our partnership with Wakefield Trinity has significantly strengthened the player development pathway within our Rugby League Academy at Park View Academy of Sport. This collaboration gives our students access to professional coaching, elite training environments, and the opportunity to be directly scouted by a Super League club. Wakefield Trinity's involvement provides a clear progression route into professional rugby league, while also enhancing the standard of our day-to-day programme. It’s a unique opportunity that bridges education with high-level sport in an aspirational, performance-driven setting.
"I am extremely happy and excited to agree on this partnership with Park View Academy of Sport. This will allow Wakefield Trinity to branch out to wider areas to support the development of the Rugby League and player production in the northeast.

The partnership will support and provide further opportunities for players in the northeast a solid pathway into the professional Rugby League. We have already found some excellent talent in the northeast which has led to three players from Gateshead Storm joining our scholarship system with further additions set to be added in the future."

Matty Nicholson, Head of Youth

Director of Sport Lewis Pendleton said,
"We are delighted to be partnering with Wakefield Trinity. The ambition of this partnership is player development. We know the North East has an abundance of talent. Through our programme, we want to expose players with the right physical attributes and more importantly the right attitude a platform to progress.
This partnership will allow Wakefield to talent ID players providing a chance for them to progress, hopefully into the professional game."

PATHWAY INTO
PROFESSIONAL RUGBY
At Park View Academy of Sport, we are proud to provide a genuine pathway into professional rugby league. Our Rugby Academy delivers high-performance coaching, competitive fixtures, and access to professional environments, giving players the tools and exposure they need to succeed at the next level. With a focus on individual development both on and off the field, we help talented athletes reach their full potential in a structured, elite setting.

This pathway has already produced outstanding success stories. Matty Rolls, a standout hooker from our programme, initially signed with Newcastle Thunder and went on to join the Leeds Rhinos U18 squad, underlining the strength of our development model. More recently, Saul Campbell and Nathan Murray impressed during a four-week trial and earned contracts with Castleford Tigers.
Both continue to train full-time with Castleford while completing their education at Park View, highlighting our ability to blend academic achievement with professional sporting ambition.
These examples reflect our commitment to supporting student-athletes on their journey to the professional game. Through a combination of elite training, academic flexibility, and strong relationships with top-level clubs, Park View Academy of Sport offers a proven and respected route into professional rugby league. Our environment is designed to develop not just players—but professionals ready to thrive in the sport.

MATTY ROLLS
LEEDS RHINOS
"Coming to Park View was a turning point for me. The standard of coaching, the intensity of sessions, and the competitive fixtures helped me grow massively as a player. Park View gave me the confidence, the tools, and the exposure I needed to make that leap. I wouldn’t be where I am now without the academy."

SAUL CAMPBELL
CASTLEFORD TIGERS
"Park View has been the perfect environment for me to chase my rugby ambitions. The coaching staff pushed me every day and gave me the support I needed during my Castleford trial. It’s a place that prepares you mentally and physically for the next level. Signing with Castleford while continuing my studies at Park View is the best of both worlds, and I’m grateful for everything the academy has done for me."

NATHAN MURRAY
CASTLEFORD TIGERS
""Park View Academy of Sport has played a massive role in helping me take the next step in my rugby journey. The balance between full-time training and education allowed me to push myself on the field while staying on track academically. The coaches believed in me, gave me the platform to develop, and supported me through my trial with Castleford. Now, being part of a Super League club while still studying at Park View shows just how powerful this pathway is." "

GAMES
PROGRAMME

The Park View Rugby League Academy proudly competes in the RFL College Rugby League, governed and delivered by The Rugby Football League (TheRFL), the national governing body for Rugby League in the UK. This elite competition provides a pathway for players aged 16–19 to play regular, high-quality fixtures against other top-performing colleges and academies, many linked to professional clubs.
Competing in this league allows our players to develop within a structure closely aligned with the professional game. With regular exposure to elite-level opposition, the competition mirrors the standards expected at the next level, making it an ideal platform for aspiring athletes. It also ensures that our players are on the radar of professional scouts and coaches, with opportunities to transition into the professional or semi-professional game.
STRENGTH &
CONDITIONING
At Park View Academy of Sport, our players benefit from a Premier League academy-standard performance gym — equipped by Perform Better, the official supplier to the England National Team. Our state-of-the-art facilities provide everything needed to help athletes progress physically and reach their full potential.

Our dedicated team of UKSCA accredited, Master's degree, and PhD-qualified Strength and Conditioning coaches tailor individual programmes to meet each player's specific needs. We focus on developing strength, power, speed, and endurance — the key physical attributes needed to excel at the highest levels of football.

The performance gym is fully fitted with cutting-edge technology, including VALD testing systems, Witty Timing Gates, and PASCO force plates, allowing us to monitor workloads, track performance data, and create evidence-based training programmes. Players also benefit from access to full and half racks, and specialist equipment like the Eccentrix K-Box, designed to elevate strength training.

Every student-athlete follows a structured, position-specific training programme, designed to maximise their athletic development. Delivered by highly experienced staff who understand the physical demands of professional football, our programme ensures that players are physically prepared to thrive both on and off the pitch.

Park View Academy of Sport prioritises the holistic development of its players through the strategic implementation of advanced technologies and dedicated support systems.
Performance analysis is enhanced through the use of VEO camera systems, providing automated recording and AI-powered insights into training sessions and matches. This allows for detailed review of team tactics and individual player performance, facilitating personalised feedback and remote sharing capabilities for continuous learning.

Furthermore, Catapult wearable technology offers quantifiable data on key performance indicators, enabling coaches to monitor training loads, mitigate injury risks, and develop individualised training plans based on objective physical metrics.
In the event of injury, international players benefit from comprehensive rehabilitation programmes delivered by expert sports therapists and physiotherapists. These programmes are tailored to individual needs, employing modern facilities and a phased return-to-play approach, alongside education on injury prevention strategies.

Recognising the crucial link between well-being and athletic success, the Academy provides regular well-being talks and support initiatives. These address mental health awareness, offer guidance on cultural integration for students, and cover essential topics such as nutrition and time management, ensuring players have access to the necessary resources for their overall well-being and development both on and off the field.
