Park View Academy of Sport is excited to announce the launch of our brand new Basketball Academy. Basketball is a sport we have been keen on introducing to the Academy for some years now. With the addition of Mike Davies to the Park View staff we are now in a very strong position to move forward with this exciting venture. Mike has played professional basketball here in the UK (BBL) and has experience playing abroad in FIBA 3X3 tournaments. Mike's CV boasts a number of titles including National Basketball leagues and BUCS University league. Mike has successfully set up and managed multiple basketball academies in the Middle East so is bringing a wealth of international knowledge to his already impressive UK experience.
We caught up with Mike who shared his thoughts on his new role "I'm excited to join the dedicated and successful team here at Park View Academy of Sport and provide the opportunity for the local students not only to participate in basketball but share a platform for those wanting to go the extra mile."
Students who choose the Basketball Academy at Park View Academy of Sport will have access to on-site facilities, professional coaching (both on and off the court) and a quality education. Students can choose from A-Levels, Level 3 BTEC in Sport or Active IQ Level 2.
Academy Director Lewis Pendleton is happy to have Mike on board for the launch of the new Basketball Academy here at Park View and added the following "I am delighted to be launching a post-16 basketball academy offer, we are looking to work with local clubs and the region to devise a programme that allows aspiring basketball players to train alongside their academic studies. The programme will offer students the access to train each day, receive specialist strength and conditioning and access to our physios. We are looking to work with local clubs to offer additional training during the day. Players will continue to play for their own clubs on an evening and weekends, if you are a club player, a coach or a parent please don't hesitate to get in touch and help us shape this exciting new addition to Park View."
