Park View Academy of Sport Partner With Chester-Le-Street Town Ladies

Updated: Apr 25, 2020

Park View Academy of Sport are today delighted to announce the partnership with Chester Le Street Town Ladies as we establish a joint football development programme for 16-19-year-olds. As part of this pathway, we are delighted to secure the services of Barry McCrea who will be the head coach for the Women's Academy programme. He will combine coaching on the academy alongside running the first team which provides girls with a unique opportunity to progress from age group football into senior football. Barry will work alongside Connor McHugh who will also deliver coaching at the academy level. The academy itself will run from Park View Academy of Sport and will aim to follow in the success of the men's programme, which is regarded as the best football programme outside professional academies in the country. Girls will be coached daily and receive bespoke strength and conditioning, access to nutrition, a yearly players performance programme, all games recorded by VEO as well as having access to Playertek GPS pods for every session and game. The girls will play on a Wednesday during the day in the National Football Youth League having the chance to play professional teams such as Manchester City. There will also be access to 7 a side and futsal competitions throughout the year. A key feature of the pathway is the link to play senior football at a realistic level for girls aged 16-19. By working with Chester-Le-Street Town Ladies talented players will have the opportunity to play in the FA Women's National League should they reach the required standard. The academy is open to any player from an RTC, a girls club or those who are seeking to play who may not be part of a structure yet. Our academy will cater for participation level, development level and those who aspire to become elite. We will work with grassroots clubs developing age group players during the week helping to improve them for the teams they play for on a weekend. This programme will never restrict a player playing for their chosen club or RTC on a weekend. A key feature of this programme is the ability to integrate A Levels alongside the girl's football training and strength and conditioning. This alongside with other choices such as BTEC Sport or the Fitness Diploma mean that academic excellence is at the heart of this offer. As with all of our academies we seek to develop meaningful partnerships that enhance opportunities for students to achieve their best academically and on the field.
